  • Woods 2-19-2026

Jared and I fished woods today from 8am until 2:30 and the ones you see below was our best. Rapala DT6 Cribbean Shad and Chartreuse Rootbeer did most of the damage. www.rapala.com Water temp on the ramp side of the bridge ranges from 52 to 54 but under the bridge it begins to drop quickly. All our fish came from water no deeper than 5-6 feet.

I fished Woods yesterday with long time friend and a great young fisherman Jared Hollingsworth, I made a early mistake in the direction I took us on the lake and it cost us several hours. It wasn’t until late in the afternoon that we found the ones that you see below. We had 8 bites in a hour. . We put 6 in the boat and both lost one. The fish were i n(3-4 feet) 52 degree water. Sufix Yellow Braid with a fluorocarbon leader and a jig. www.sufix.com Sorry about all the pictures being in single file-still working on how to get them side by side. Rick

  • Web Site Update 2-6-2026

Just a FYI. My site is going to look a little different for a while. My original site was constructed in 2007-19 years ago. It contained literally 1000’s of fish pictures from the trips that I had with clients and friends through the years. Those pictures WILL NOT be able to be viewed until we can figure out how to transfer them and still comply with the hosting services guidelines, You will be able to see NEW PIC beginning with my next trips. Thank you for visiting my site and we will work through the change as we go. Rick

Ken and I fished OH for 3 1/2 hours today to check out some work that he had done on his motor. Truthfully we had 1 area that gave up the fish that you see above-All on a Luhr-Jensen Crystal Red Speed Trap.  www.luhrjensen.com You can see from the pictures above they engulfed it. Water temp was 46 degrees and the fish were in  2-3 feet of water. Thats always been typical for OH for as long as I can remember. Shallow fish Not just in warm water but cold water as well.  Are there deep water FFS fish “sure” but there is alway an abundance of shallow water fish as well. I know I harp on this but it’s a good idea to have a Rapala Red Craw DT6 www.rapala.com and a Red Luhr-Jensen Speed Trap tied on in the winter months.  Everything caught on Sufix 8lb Blue ProMix Mono www.sufix.com . My oldest son Rick Jr. and I fished Tim’s today from 8:00am until 2:00pm and had 7 total with the ones above being our best. It was tough all day-we may have had 8 or 9 total bites .  VMC Weedless Jig www.vmchooks.com and soft plastics was by far the best for us.  I hope to fish Friday IF SO I’ll post what we do. Thanks for visiting my site and MERRY CHRISTMAS   Rick

Ken and I fished Tim’s today  for 6 hours. We caught and released 9 total with the ones above being our best,  They hit a Rapala OG DeepTiny 7 Green Gizzard Shad www.rapala.com  or a VMC Weedless Finesse Jig www.vmchooks.com and soft plastics . The OG’s are great flat sided balsa baits with a circuit board lip that runs true every time . “I THOUGHT” they would hit RED today but it didn’t happen-they liked the shad instead.  Water temp when we started was 49 degrees and got up to 51 degrees before we left. No real pattern to tell you about-just keep your trolling motor down  and keep chunk’n. 6lb Sufix Clear Blue Promix mono and Sufix Yellow Performance Braid with a  Sufix Advance fluorocarbon leader .  Check out all of our great items at Rapala.com Maybe 1 more post this week before the bas weather sit’s in.
