Ken Jenkins and I fished Normandy yesterday from 6:30am until approximately noon. We put in at Fire Lake and caught all of our fish upriver between Fire lake and the second bridge. Lake level was 871 which is 4 feet blow summer pool and water temp was 78-79 and good color. Air temp was in the high 60’s. No problem getting in or out at the ramp but it won’t be long before the dock will be unusable. We caught and released 15 Spots/Largemouth mix between 10 inches and 2 pounds on a Rapala #6 Shad Rap www.rapala.com and 2 different colored finesse worms (black & plum). A Shad Rap is hard to beat any time of the year-and with the variety of colors and depths there is one that will work most of the time trolling or casting. We saw 2 or 3 good surface activities but out of our reach. We did talk to one gentleman that said he had some good fish this week throwing a black buzz bait. As you know Fall opens up a wide variety of possibilities when it comes to lure color and selection-choose your poison and how hard you want to work at it. Hope this helps you some. Rick
