This is a 3 day report over the past 3 weeks or so. The top 3 pictures of me was my best on Nick A Jack Fish that I caught on a Rapala Moss Back Shiner Rip Stop and a Rapala Skitter Walk www.rapala.com The 2 pictures below is Ken in a red hat was from last week on the Cumberland River we caught and released 5 Smallmouth and 5 Spots. The remaining 11 pictures are from my trip to Normandy this morning with Terry Hicks. All of these Largemouth and Spots were caught on a 3/32oz VMC Weedless Finesse Jig and soft plastics. www.vmchooks.com Terry converted to Sufix Pro Mix a long time ago and as always I was using Sufix Braid except this time I was using the “NEW” Sufix Advance 100% Fluorocarbon as my leader www.sufix.com I Also have this on one of my cranking rods. The new Sufix Advance Fluprocarbon uses a Gel Phase Technology Process which results is a great handling line that is super sensitive, abrasion resistant and virtually memory free. Another great addition to the Sufix line up. I fished until 11:00am on NAJ-10:00 on the river and 9:30am today on Normandy…………………..another 104+ heat index day. I’ll be glad when things cool down and you can get a full day trip in. “HOWEVER” I’m thankful for every day the Lord gives me. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Normandy 7-22-2019 WoW!
Ronnie and I caught 35+ this morning on Normandy. 10 went in Ronnies freezer the other 25+ released to fight again. We easily had 5 good keeper limits. I need to stop and ask a question. Do you like to throw finesse type baits? How about throwing them into laydowns-& heavy timber when they won’t hit a bigger bait? If you haven’t tried the VMC Weedless Jig your missing out. They come in Black or Grn Pumpkin with 4 weights–3/32–1/8–3/16–1/4oz sizes with either a VMC 1/0 or 2/0 light wire needle point hook-a Stainless Weed guard. 4 to a pack and the head has a hollow back that let’s you snug your bait up tight for a more natural presentation. www.vmchooks.com Team them up with Sufix Braid-Mono or Fluorocarbon www.sufix.com and hold on. More in a couple days hopefully. A good friend of mine Terry Hicks is having Bladder Cancer surgery tomorrow so I will be at the hospital with him. If you believe in prayer I would appreciate you remembering Terry. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Chickamauga 7-3-2019
Got a call from Braxton yesterday telling me about the fantastic trip he and Rob Donahue had on Chick. I believe my numbers are right -65 total in the boat with the best 5 going some where in the 25-26 pound range. All came off of drops. A variety of baits and techniques was used by Rob and Braxton-what every they used it did good! I asked Braxton (15years old) about the heat and he said it wasn’t to bad-Oh I remember when I could say that-not so now after my heat stroke. All the fish I caught this week was at Captain D’s. Great job guys…….Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Normandy Spots -14-2019
My youngest son Daniel took the day off and we headed to Normandy to Walleye fish. That didn’t work for us in the first 2 hours so we switched to Spots and had a double limit. I started taking Daniel to the lake when he was still in his car seat and diapers. We would stay for a couple hours and catch Bluegill so he could reel them in. I had a rope tied to the back of his life jacket to keep him from falling out of the boat-he would take his Mickey Mouse Spin Cast and away we would go. Now he has a 18 month old (Marshall) that is ready to do the same thing–Needless to say I enjoyed today more than I can say. 1/8oz Black VMC Moon Eye Jig www.vmchooks.com and 6lb Sufix Clear Blue Pro Mix Mono. www.sufix.com More next week depending on the weather Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com
2 Day Report “New” BX Brat Color
This report is for Normandy today 6-10-2019 and for Tim’s one day last week. I had 6 good Largemouth on Normandy this morning. The 3 Smallmouth you see below all came in one spot within 2 good casts from one another. I also had several smaller Smallmouth that day as well. Today I should have had 10 to show you but I lost 3 good fish that I couldn’t get out of the laydowns and another one I just didn’t have stuck. I also had 5 short fish as well. I’m really excited about some “New” baits here at Rapala. First is a dynamite new color of a BX Brat that is called Hot Dang It’s a black back-Gray sided bait with a touch of chartreuse, This is going to be a good one around here. Most of the Smallmouth I caught last week and 3 of the Largemouth you see above came on this bait, You can see a small willow leaf blade on the back treble (I’ll explain in a minute). First we are going to have 4 new colors on the Brat Series PLUS a new BIG BRAT as well. It will be 3/4 of an inch longer 1/2 ounce heavier than the Brat you see above. It should push more water and present a bigger target when needed. The Big Brat will come in one depth range (6Foot) compared to 2 depth ranges we have now (3 Foot & 6 Foot) I don’t have a big one yet to show you and I’m guarding the 2 Hot Dang that I have with my life. They should start showing up in the stores soon. Now for the blade. We also have a “New” Bladed Hybrid 1x strong Short Shank Treble Hook with a small willow leaf blade that is resin sealed into the hook. The Bladed Hybrid will be available in a #8–#6–#4–and a #2. I immediately attached one to the Hot Dang and man it looks fantastic in the water and as I have already found out the bass like it too. Can’t wait to get more of these new baits in my hands–Keep watch at your favorite Store they will be coming soon. More hopefully tomorrow. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Way to go guy’s. Braxton keep the pressure on old granddad. I hope to get back out this next week, my wife is doing better Praise The Lord! Have a great week end.
