Ken and I got on some “Big” Shellcrackers this morning on CH. The big ones ranged from 12 to 13 inches and 1 3/4 lb to 2 lbs.  All on ultra lights. I was using Sufix 4lb mono www.sufix.com a VMC Aberdeen # 8 hook wwwvmchooks.com a small split shot and a piece of night crawler. They would strip drag and dig deep-a lot of fun with a good friend.
