I put in a Shell Mound this morning at daylight and had a good Rapala Shadow Rap Shad (Ghost Shiner) bite for about  2 1/2hrs then at least for me things slowed way down. After that I picked up one here one there on a Rapala DT6 Live River Shad www.rapala.com and a Terminator Jig www.terminator.com but couldn’t put any pattern together. I met good friend Ron at Nick A Jack this morning and we pooled our fish from both boats for pictures.   The 12 above was our best-we also had several others (6-8?)  and 95% was caught on a Ralala DT6 Live River Shad www.ralala.com and 8lb test Sufix Clear Blue Mono www.sufix.com. Water temps have stayed up right at 52 degrees even with the cold weather that we have had over the last 10 days. After today Ron is a firm believer in the River Shad-This has to be 1 of the best colors on our area lakes from Nick A jack to Center Hill-Normandy-Tim’s Priest-Old Hickory….it just flat works.  ****Daniel Up Date**** The operation well very well-he’s doing great and we are so thankful. This is just a quick update on my son. I have had a lot of calls and e-mails asking how he is doing and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.  This Thursday he go’s for his last operation which this time is to patch the hole in his ear drum.  The procedure is one where they take skin and cartilage from his ear and transplant it over the hole in the ear drum and then pack it with something that dissolves. He will be out of work for 3 weeks   and will have lifting & bending restrictions.    His wedding which has been planned for almost a year  is scheduled for Saturday April 15th-so this will be close. Appreciate your thoughts and prayers. Other wise he is doing great with no lingering effects from burns or the operation on his jaw.  We are blessed and thankful that he is still with us.   Rick

It was great seeing everyone today at MOD for the annul Cabin Fever Fix and a big thank you to Mark from Jones and company for all the help and  the Rapala T Shirts that we were able to give away in this event with the purchase of 3 Rapala-Storm-Sufix or VMC items. I made a rare afternoon trip to Tim’s today to just fish a Jerk Bait-I fished from 11:30 until 3 and had 5 with the 2 above being my best.  With all the warm weather the water temps has jumped back up to 53 degrees and there is already bait moving into the mid and back section of coves and pockets.  All I used was a Helsinki Shad Husky Jerk www.rapala.com and 8lb Test Sufix Clear Blue Mono www.sufix.com . Center Hill this morning the 11 above was the best of 16 total all released unharmed. I did the same thing today that I did last week when I had 5 in the well I stopped and took pictures. Started out with a VMC  3/16ox  Shaky Head www.vmc hooks.com  and soft plastic rigged on 8lb test Sufix Promix mono. www.sufix.com. I switched over to a Rapala #7 Crawdad Shad Rap and caught the majority of the fish today on that. And once again just like the swim bait last week they would hammer it.  The #7 will run  down to 11 feet on 10lb test but I throw them on 6lb Pro Mix so it gets down a little deeper.  Hopefully more in a couple days. These are all separate fish-I put 5 in the well and took pictures of them all at 1 time out of the wind—-and did it again with the others. I fished the Hill by myself today and caught and released 12 Spots with the 9 above being the best. They are chunks. I caught the big Largemouth the first of the week on Tim’s before we were ran off the lake with lighting and storms. I caught the spots today on a NEW Storm Smokin Ghost 360GT Search Bait (the action on these bait are great!www.stormlures.com  I also caught several on soft plastics Rigged on Sufix 8lb Pro Mix Mono www.sufix.com  and a #2 VMC Worm Hook www.vmc hooks.com.  It was interesting that the ones I caught on soft plastics the bite was light-But it was a different story on the 360GT they would smash it.  You can check out all the colors of the new 360GTs on line at www.rapala.com.
