I made a rare afternoon trip to Tim’s today to just fish a Jerk Bait-I fished from 11:30 until 3 and had 5 with the 2 above being my best. With all the warm weather the water temps has jumped back up to 53 degrees and there is already bait moving into the mid and back section of coves and pockets. All I used was a Helsinki Shad Husky Jerk www.rapala.com and 8lb Test Sufix Clear Blue Mono www.sufix.com . Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

2 hours of fog this morning when we got to the lake High preasure system setting on top of us-but as it lifted Ken and I managed to put the ones above in the boat. Rapala DT6 Demon www.rapala.com did the trick tossed on Sufix 6lb Pro Mix Clear Blue mono www.sufix.com. More in a couple days. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Tougher day on the Hill for me. Above is the best 5 of 9 caught on a variety of Rapala DT Crankbaits (both 6’s & 10’s) www.rapala.com and soft plastics rigged on a VMC Shaky Head Jig. www.vmc hook.com I Covered 3 times more water today than I did the first of the week—Just couldn’t put it together. More next week. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com
Center Hill 2-14-2017
Center Hill this morning the 11 above was the best of 16 total all released unharmed. I did the same thing today that I did last week when I had 5 in the well I stopped and took pictures. Started out with a VMC 3/16ox Shaky Head www.vmc hooks.com and soft plastic rigged on 8lb test Sufix Promix mono. www.sufix.com. I switched over to a Rapala #7 Crawdad Shad Rap and caught the majority of the fish today on that. And once again just like the swim bait last week they would hammer it. The #7 will run down to 11 feet on 10lb test but I throw them on 6lb Pro Mix so it gets down a little deeper. Hopefully more in a couple days. Thanks for visiting my site. These are all separate fish-I put 5 in the well and took pictures of them all at 1 time out of the wind—-and did it again with the others. I fished the Hill by myself today and caught and released 12 Spots with the 9 above being the best. They are chunks. I caught the big Largemouth the first of the week on Tim’s before we were ran off the lake with lighting and storms. I caught the spots today on a NEW Storm Smokin Ghost 360GT Search Bait (the action on these bait are great!www.stormlures.com I also caught several on soft plastics Rigged on Sufix 8lb Pro Mix Mono www.sufix.com and a #2 VMC Worm Hook www.vmc hooks.com. It was interesting that the ones I caught on soft plastics the bite was light-But it was a different story on the 360GT they would smash it. You can check out all the colors of the new 360GTs on line at www.rapala.com. And the at your favorite tackle store. More next week Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Normandy 1-31-2017
My best 5 of 9 total today on Normandy. Usually the Rapala DT6 Red Craw or the DT6 Demon pays off on Normandy trip in trip out. BUT today was different, I struggled around early catching only 2 on the Red Craw and then I switched to a Rapala DT6 Parrot and the next 7 came on that www.rapala.com. I remembered a trip that Billy Campbell and I had on Normandy years ago and the same thing happened to us then. We switched to a chartreuse and blue bait and that was the ticket. There was NO WIND for most of the day and a bright blue cold front sky-so-I’m happy with the results. I throw the DT6 on Sufix 6lb Clear Blue Pro Mix-my line of choice hands down www.sufix.com Thanks for visiting my site-more later this week. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com
Normandy 1-24-2017
This is the first time I have been able to get back on the lake since Daniel’s accident and it was a very good day. Ronnie and I caught 15 total mix of Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spots and Crappie. Because of the recent rains the lake had great cranking color and that’s exactly what we did. We caught fish on a Rapala Demon DT6 and Red Craw all in 5 to 6 feet of water www.rapala.com and they would hammer the baits. Big fish 4lbs 11oz released live and well. We both use Sufix mono www.sufix.com I like the Clear Blue Pro Mix and Ronnie has settled in on the Hi-Vis Yellow. This will be it until next week, Daniel has his jaw operated on tomorrow at Vanderbilt and I will stay close to home. Until then thanks for visiting my site. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com
Up Date On Daniel
Burn appointment today went very very well, it doesn’t appear that grafting will be necessary. He will have a surgery this Thursday on his jaw. And we have yet to have our appointment with the hearing folks. All the prayer support has been wonderful and the Lord has touched-is touching and will touch Daniel as he heals from this accident. Thank you for you support… Rick
