Best 18 of 31 that Ronnie and I caught today on Center Hill-topped of with a 20lb Blue Cat that took Ronnie 20 minutes to get in the boat on Sufix 6lb mono (strong line) www.sufix.com. Everything else as far has lures etc is exactly the same as yesterday. (read post below)That’s 60+ in 2 days on the Hill. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

Best 11 of several caught on soft plastics and either a 3/16 VMC Dater Head Jig or 3/32 VMC Finesse Weedless Jig www.vmchooks.com and Sufix 7lb 100% Invisiline Flourocarbon. This line is virtually invisible-casts extremely well-incredibly sensitive-low stretch and is manufactured with the Sufix exclusive G2 Precision winding which all but eliminates memory. If you like fluorocarbon you really need to pick up a spool , I know you will like-great line. I haven’t used the higher LB test but the 8lb down is fantastic. www.sifix.com The water temp is still in the high 50’s and clear . Thanks for visiting my site. Braxton and I put in this morning at 7am and left at 1:45pm we caught and released a mix of 24 Largemouth-Smallmouth and Spots. All but 1 was caught on either a Rapala DT6 River Shad www.rapala.com or a VMC Weedless Finesse Jig and soft plastics www.vmchooks.com. I was using 8lb Sufix Pro Mix with a Sufix Fluorocarbon 6lb test leader. www,sufix.com. on the soft plastics and 6lb Pro Mix on my crankbait. Braxton once again is great to fish with and to correct something from yesterday he will be 14 soon not 12—-he wants to be older I wish at times I was younger. He’s a good kid I had 2 great days with him. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com
Tim’s Ford 3-23-2018 Braxton Campbell
I had the pleasure of fishing with the grandfather/grandson team of Billy and Braxton Campbell on Tim’s yesterday and we had a good day together. We put 14 Smallmouth in the boat from 6:30 to 2:00pm with 2 being caught on a Rapala X Rap www.rapala.com and the other 12 on soft plastics rigged on finesse jig heads. I was using the VMC Weedless Finesse Jig Head wwwvmchooks.com in a couple different sizes depending on the wind and 6lb Test Sufix mono www.sufix.com . I think we are only a few good warm days away from things breaking wide open-we found water temps in the 53 degree range and the color everywhere we stopped was good. Braxton is a good fisherman with a great feel for what ever he is using-I forgot to ask but I think he is 12 years old. He has a great future in bass fishing ahead of him-way to go Braxton! Ronnie and I put in at 7am this morning ran to our first stop and had 5 Smallmouth right off the bat. We struggled around for a while after that but finished the day with 11 Smallmouth and 1 Spot. The 7 above was our best. Everything was caught on soft plastics and a 1/8oz VMC Finesse Weedless Jig www.vmchooks.com. We both were using Sufix Clear Blue Mono in 6 & 8 lb test. If you haven’t tried the VMC FW Jig you really need to pick up a pack and try them. The wire keeper on these are far better than most that’s on the market today-plus the backs are hollow so you can snug the bait up closer and the weedgards are stainless and work great. More to come hopefully tomorrow-headed to Old Hickory with Ken Jenkins. I’ll let you know what we did—Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

2 Day Report Tim’s & Normandy 3-6-2018
This is a 2 day report for Tims & Normandy. Ronnie is holding our best yesterday on Tim’s all were caught on 2 different Storm Wiggle Warts (Natural Green Craw & Brown Craw) www.stormlures.com The 5 below (4 LM & 1 Spot) I caught today on Normandy. 1 On a 3/8oz Terminator Char/White Spinnerbait www.terminatorlures.com and the same Storm Natural Green Wiggle Wart that has produced over the past couple weeks. Ronnie and I both throw Sufix Mono in different weights-(6-8-10) best line on the market as far as I’m concerned. www.sufix.com Water Temps and levels have dropped-River end of Tim’s is heavy stained to muddy-Normandy varies from Barton Springs up-the further you go up the muddier it gets.. More the end of this week. Looks like snow flurries tomorrow. Thanks for visiting my site Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com

This post has been a disaster . First of all I lost 11 pictures of great Smallmouth & Largemouth and Big Hybrids. I kept getting a image error pop up which I have never seen before. Now I cant get the pictures to position correctly. I’m done whining now——–Ron and I met at 6:30 am and had a good day. Winds were in the 25mph + range-water temps in the mid to upper 50’s and water color from muddy to heavy stain. All but 2 of our fish came on a Storm Natural Green Craw Crankbait. www.stormlures.com This bait has been hot for Ron over the past 2 weeks. Go to Rapala.com and then click on Storm then Original Warts Series to get a better view this bait. There was no doubt when they hit the Wart-they meant business. 8lb Sufix Clear Blue Pro Mix Mono www.sufix.com VMC Crankbiat Snap that gave the Wart even more “wiggle room” vmchooks.com . More next week Lord willing. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com
Normandy 2-20-2018
The Smallmouth-Largemouth- Spot combo you see above were caught in the 1st 3 hours this morning on Normandy-12 total for the day. Rapala DT6 Red Craw did the trick again. Red Craw and the Demon always shine this time of the year. www.rapala.com Water temp mid lake right at 50—55 by the 2nd bridge. Ronnie and I both were throwing 6lb Sufix Mono www.sufix.com. Just a side note if your looking for a “GOOD” crankbait snap that you don’t have to use a pipe wrench on to get it open-yet are extremely strong -you need to pick up the VMC Crankbiat Snap which comes in 5 sizes from a 00 to a 3. They are made out of stainless in a tear drop shape which gives your crank baits optimum maneuverability. These are the best snaps I have ever used. Try them you will see what I mean. I pulled out some of my old crankbaits that I use to throw last night and what do you know it was a good choice. It’s hard to tell how many fish I have caught through the years on a Luhr-Jensen Speed Trap-and today the Root Beer Chartreuse 1/8 Trap did the trick. www.luhrjensen.com These are great baits that you just don’t hear much about any more-they have a square bill and a very thin wall that allows for maximum viberation and rattle that is unique to this bait. I always throw these on Sufix 6lb Test Clear Blue Pro Mix Mono www.sufix.com and a VMC Crankbait Snap www.vmchooks.com which enhances the action even more. Needles to say the Speed Traps in all colors will be back in my arsenal from now on. Water temps today was 47-48 range and muddy to heavy stain-wind 25mph most of the time. You can view the Speed Traps if you go to rapala.com and click on Luhr-Jensen. Rick McFerrin www.tennesseebassguides.com
